One day I was playing the lyre when the most beautiful maiden came upon me. Her name was Eurydice. I knew as soon as I saw her that I loved her. I played my lyre for her and soon we fell in love. Eurydice and I are going to be wed. It will be such a happy time when we finally get married.
I am terribly sad. A moment after we get married, a viper comes and bites my precious Eurydice. She died, but I will not give up. I will go to the Underworld and get my lady back if it's the last thing I do! I have found the entrance to the Underworld and I have made it to Hades. I touch him and Persephone with my lyre and he gave me a chance to get Persephone back. All I have to do is escape to the Upper World without looking back at Eurydice.
Once again, I am terribly depressed. Just as I was crossing into the Upper World, I looked back at my beloved, but all I saw was a shimmer of her returning to the Underworld and her saying "Farewell!". I will never be happy again. Then a band of nymphs came and ripped me to pieces. As I am telling this story, my body is laying at the foot of Mt. Olympus broken and torn apart.
